1. Jesus not only saved us from sins, but He also gave us new hearts (that are able to turn away from sins and have faith in Jesus) and promised us a new home, heaven, where all the believers will reunite with God.
2. As new creations, we must do our best to live a life that make God happy while waiting for the new home.
Psalm 100:3A Know that the Lord, he is God! It is He who made us, and we are His
We already learned that only Jesus who can saved us from sins. At the same time, Jesus also prepared at least 2 gifts for each of us who believe in Him.
The first gift is Jesus gave each of us a new heart. The moment we sinned against GOD, our heart died. When Jesus died for us, He gave us a new heart, so our hearts are no longer dead. With the new hearts, we all can turn back to God and walk closer to God. God also gives us power to stay away from sins (say “NO” to sins).
The second gift is a new home, that we call Heaven. Heaven is real, but we must wait to get this gift. What is Heaven? Heaven is the kingdom of God, where God lives. In heaven, all the people who believe in Jesus will stay together again with God forever and ever. God promised to give us this new home after our lives on earth are done. As a faithful God, He will surely remember and fulfil His promise.
The Bible from the book of Revelation says that there will be no more pain, no more sadness, no more death, and no more sins later in heaven. On this earth we sometimes feel pain when we are sick, or we feel sad because we sin or because someone died. We will not have those anymore in heaven.
We all will still need to wait patiently for the Heaven to come. We are sometimes sad or feel pain/bad, while we are on earth. However, just like how He cares for the sparrow birds and the flowers on the field, Jesus will also always cares for us. With our new hearts, we need to give our best to live a life that make God happy until we are reunite again with Him in Heaven.
Know that the Lord, he is God! It is He who made us, and we are His.
