Bahan Alkitab: Exodus 16
During introduction, I would ask the children if they are thankful of the food they can eat daily even though some of the food could be same. Or if they would complain/grumble because of it is the same food again and they find it boring. If they are not thankful and keep complaining then they are like the Israelites who are not thankful to God.I would then brought the children to review last week lesson whether they still remember on how God set the Israelites free from Egypt. God was with the Israelites on their journey to the promised land. It was a very long journey in the dessert. God used Moses to lead the Israelites to the promised land. The people of Israelites have to obey. After weeks of travelling, they ran out of food and were hungry. They started to complain/grumble to Moses that they have nothing to eat and why they were brought to the dessert and starve to death. They said that they would rather stay in Egypt. At least they had all the food they wanted.Moses listened to the complaint and knew that they were complaining because they had stopped trusting God to take care of them. God also heard of the complaint and told Moses that the Israelites would eat meat in the evening and in the morning filled with bread so they will know that I am the lord your God who set them free from Egypt. In the evening, God sent a flock of Quail to the Israelites. The birds flew right down to the Israelites camp. The people caught the birds and cooked them for their meal time at night. The Israelites enjoyed the food which God sent. Everyone had plenty of food to eat. God kept his Promise to provide for His people.Next morning, when the Israelites woke up, they found white flakes everywhere on the ground. They said Manna which meant “what is it?”.Moses told them it is the bread the Lord has given you to eat. It is something like a wafer with honey. Moses told them to take enough for one day and God will send more the next day. However, some of the Israelites were disobedient. They took more than they need. The next day, manna which they kept aside had turned rotten with worms on it. They did not trust and obey God. There were also some who did not take enough in the morning. By noon, the sun shone brightly, the manna would melt and they did not have enough manna and were hungry. Again, they were disobedient to God. Each day God gave his people all the food they need. One day before sabbath, they told mosses to tell the people to take enough manna for two days. Sabbath is a day for his people to rest and to worship God. That is why God gave his people enough manna for two days. However, some of them still disobeyed God's instruction and went out to gather manna. They realised there was not a single flake of manna to be found. God kept His Word and He wanted his people to listen and obey.God knew what was the best for the Israelites. He knew they need food. He also knew they need to rest and worship God. He wanted his people to trust Him to provide their needs.Similarly, God also knows our needs. We need food to have energy. He also knew we need to worship God and rest on Sabbath day. We should be reminded and thankful that God not only provides for our needs, he has given the biggest gift to us through His son Jesus who died and rose again to clean our sin.Sometimes, it is difficult to trust and obey God because we are a sinner but we ask God to to help us so we can continue to have our trust and be obedient in God.
Do not be afraid. Stand Firm and you will see the deliverance the lord will bring you today. – Exodus 14:13b

Bahan Alkitab: Colossians
Colossians is also written by Apostle Paul in his imprisonment in Rome. He wrote Ephesians, Philippians ,Philemon and Colossians during Paul’s first imprisonment in Rome.
Background of Colossians Church , It is about 100 miles of Ephesus, the Gospel was proclaimed by Paul in Ephesus and Epaphras who listened and became a believer brought it to Colossae. He played the major role in the evangelism and growth of the Colossians.Epaphras either visited Paul in prison or was imprisoned with him and reported on conditions in Colossians Church.
The purpose to write this letter ( often always the case of Paul’s others letter ) like Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesus and Philippians ,to teach young Christians to grow in the right doctrine of the Gospel.
Paul emphasized on these 3 main points in its letter to Colossians:
1. The Supremacy of Jesus Christ.
2. Beware of false teachings.
3. As Christians we need to grow in the Word of God.
Who is Jesus Christ?
1. He is the creator of all creation .( Col 1:16)
Everything is created by Him, through Him and for Him.
2. He is the image of God . He is God .(Col1:15, John 1:1-2, 14)
No one has seen God . The Word became flesh and God dwelt among us ,this is in Jesus Christ who came into this World in bodily form.
3. He is the head of the Church.(Col1:18).
Not the pope. That is why the highest authority of the Church is The Scriptures. Sola Scriptura. God special revelation to us is already written in the Bible now. Jesus has ascended to Heaven and God’s word is given to us in the written Bible . 2Timothy3:16.
4. He is The Redeemer. (Col 1:20-22)
He reconcile all things to Himself ,having made peace through the blood of His cross. He sacrifice Himself so we do not have to be punished ,His death substitute our death. When we come to trust in Him, our sins are forgiven and He imputed His righteousness to us who believe in Jesus Christ. So now we can be in peace for we have received forgiveness of our sins and we are reconciled to God . We were His enemy (Col1:21),were alienated and hostile in mind, we engaged in evil deeds. All these is solely the work of Jesus Christ, nothing else. We cannot be justified by doing the laws. Galatians 2:16.
Therefore , Christians should not listen to the false teachings that is not according to The Gospel. For examples:
1.Following all religious festival (Col 2:16,17)(numbers 28:11-14)
2. Only consume permissible food and drinks.
3. Did circumcision according to Jewish Law.
4. Asceticism (Col 2:21)
5. Angel worship (Col2:18)
6. Reliance of human wisdom and tradition.
Having made peace through the blood of His Cross:
Before Christ After Christ:
-Hostile in mind -Blameless
-Engaged in evil deeds
How should we live now after union with Christ?
Children , Obey your parents in all things.
Let us discuss:
1. Who is the most important person in your life?
2. How is He/She compare to Jesus Christ?
3. Would you like to know more about Christ?
And he is the image of the invisible God, the first -born of all creation.

Ahab Blame Elijah for the draught. Elijah challange the Baal’s prophet to go and give offering in Mount Carmel To see who is the real God, the Lord or Baal.
“The prophet of Baal will put an animal on their altar and then pray to their God and I will put an animal on my altar and pray to the Lord, the one who answer by sending fire to burn up the offering is the true Lord”, Elijah said. Baal prophets thought it is a good idea since baal is a God of nature and will be able to bring down rain and burned the offering.
The false prophet prayed and hurt themself to pray to Baal and nothing happens and Elijah mocked them.
After that Elijah guided people around him angry repaired the elder of the Lord with 12 big stones. He dug a ditch all around the altar and arrange wood and pour 12 big jar of water on it. After Elijah prayed fire came down and burnt the whole offering and the water and the soil and stones underneath. The people of Israelite were Amaze and worship God. God sent rain to Israel after that.
Elijah was not afraid to say what is right and obey God, even to the king and againts 450 false prophets. Let’s hope that our children can be brave when trust God in any situation.

Bahan Alkitab: Exodus 16 / Keluaran 16
The Israelites were traveling in the desert. They were walking from Egypt to the land God had promised to give his people. They had been traveling for many weeks and had eaten all the food they had brought from Egypt.
God’s people were hungry and they started to complain. “We have nothing to eat, Moses.” they grumbled, “Why did you bring us out to this hot, dry desert? We will starve to death here. We should have stayed in Egypt ,at least we had all the food we wanted there!”
Moses listened to their complaints. He knew that they were complaining because they had stopped trusting God to take care of them always.
They should remember that :
– God Will Never Leave Me (GWNLM)
– God wants us to follow, obey God,and trust HIM.
If the Israelites remember these in their hearts, they will not choose their tummies over GOD.
God’s will and God’s plan were for them to be free from slavery and follow God, but on their journey they kept disobeying.
Let’s continue to the story. God also heard the people complain. God said to Moses,”I have heard the grumbling of the Israelites. Tell them at twilight you will eat meat, and in the morning you will be filled with bread. Then you will know I am the Lord your God” (Exodus 16:11-12)
That evening, our wonderful, powerful God gave the Israelites meat to eat. God sent a flock of quail. The birds flew right down to the Israelite camp. People caught the birds and cooked them for supper. The Israelite enjoyed eating the food God sent. Everyone had plenty to eat. God had kept his promise to provide for his people.
The next morning when the people woke up, they saw thin white flakes on the ground “Manna?” they asked in their language. “What is it?”
“It is the bread the Lord has given you to eat.” (they called it MANNA) Moses answered. And he told them to gather enough Manna for that day only. “God will send more tomorrow.” He told them.
God wanted his people to trust him to provide day by day – to trust his provision. But some people disobeyed. They took more than they needed and set it aside for later. The next morning they found what was left overnight was rotten and full of worms !
Each day God gave his people all the food that they needed. And on the day before the Sabbath, Moses gave the people a message from God. Moses told the people to gather enough Manna for two days.
“Tomorrow is to be a day of rest, a holy sabbath to the Lord.” Moses said,” that is why on the sixth day he gives you bread for two days.”
The Lord himself would keep the manna fresh so that on the Sabbath his people could spend time worshiping God and resting, but some people disobeyed God’s instructions. This time they did not gather enough bread. When they went out on the Sabbath to gather food, there wasn’t a single flake of manna to be found. Once again, God had kept his word, and he wanted his people to listen, trust him and obey.
God knew what was best for the Israelites. He knew they needed food. He knew they needed to rest and to worship him. God wanted his people to learn to trust him to give them all that they needed. God knows what we need as well. We need food to make our bodies strong. And we need to praise God and rest on his special day, the Lord’s Day.
Let’s continue to live a life that trusts God’s words, follows God’s will and God’s plan because we know that God will never leave us.
Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today.

This week children will learn about the Sixth Commandment.
In the Sixth Commandment God instructs us not to murder but to respect and protect human life.
There are some key points which the children will learn from the Sixth Commandment:
1. Human life is precious because everyone is made in the image of God
2. The Bible says that the value of a man is equal to a man and the value of a man is greater than the whole world
3. We must be aware that anger, envy and hatred are the sinful root of murder
4. We should practice to love, do good, show compassion and forgiveness to others
May this lesson remind us to respect and love human life: others and also our own selves.
You shall not murder
