Lesson Focus:
Since God forgives us, we must forgive one another.
Lesson Aim:
Children learn what it means to forgive others. To forgive means to give our love to others who hurt us.
Children learn that forgiveness is not cheap. There is a price that must be paid to forgive others.
Children learn to forgive others.
Summary:
Today’s bible story is about the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant. There are three characters in this story: a King, Servant A, and Servant B. Servant A borrowed a lot lot of money from the King (the sum of debt ~ 2000 years of work); while Servant B borrowed some money from Servant A (the sum of debt ~ 3 months of work).
One day the King summoned Servant A and asked him to pay back all the money that he owed. Since servant A could not pay; the King ordered him to be sold together with his wife, children, and all that he has to pay his debts. So, the servant fell on his knees and said, “Have patience with me. Wait a little bit more and I will pay everything.” The King knows that the servant could not possibly pay back his debts, even if the servant works very hard. So, out of pity, the King released him and forgave all his debts. The King paid it all.
When Servant A walked out, he met Servant B who was in debt to him. Servant A began to choke him and asked him to pay all his debts. Servant B fell on his knees and said, “Have patience with me. I will pay you.” But Servant A refused and put him in prison until he could pay back his debts. Servant A already forgot that he was just forgiven by the King.
Then the King heard what happened to Servant A and B. The King summoned Servant A and said, “You wicked servant! I have forgiven all your debts. Should you also forgive your fellow servant?” In anger, the King sent Servant A to prison until he could pay all his debts.
This story teaches us that we must learn to forgive others, just as God has forgiven us. Just like Servant A, we have unpayable debt to God since our debt costs Jesus’ life; but God choose to forgive us. So, we must learn to forgive other people who hurt us.

God judges False teachers , believers must not only resist false teaching and immorality but also defend the faith and pursue devotion to God, confident that God will keep them.
Jude was written by Jude
The brother of Jesus Christ and James (Mathew 13:55, Mark 6:3)
But Jude called himself a servant of Jesus Christ to show his humility.
Written in mid 60’s AD
He became a believer after Jesus Christ resurrected.
Main points of Jude:
1. The church must contend the one true Faith
2. Christians must persevere to the end by resisting false teachers and follow the Truth until the end.
Christ has accomplish salvation , believers are to hold fast to Him and reject false ways.
vs 3 Christians must defend the doctrines of faith
Jude remind us 3 groups of people that receive judgement:
1. The Israelites who do not believe in God’s promised
2. The fallen angels , satan and his followers.
3. Sodom and Gomorah.
False teachers will be judged like them .Therefore we have to distinguish truth from lies.
1. They are in the church .Ephesians 2:8-9
2. They took this excuse to live immoral lives . we cannot keep sinning . If we keep sinning , the spirit of God is not in us. 1John 3:24.
vs 8
False teachers
1. relying on their dreams
2. Defile the flesh
3. Reject authority
4. Blaspheme the Glorious ones
Do not believe teachers who said they have spoken to God in their dreams . Pastors and teachers only teach the word of God, the bible which is the highest authority in Christian teaching. Sola scripture.
Charismatic and Catholic teachings are different . Dreams and what Pope said can be the authority of their doctrine.
During Jude time Gnostics tried to influence Christians doctrine in our belief of Jesus Christ.Gnostic believe material such as body is bad , spirit is good. This is contradicting the teaching of The Gospel. Jesus Christ is God incarnate into flesh , He has human body but He does not sin. He is also God therefore He could die on the cross to substitute for us so that we don’t have to be punished from eternal death . Our sins is forgiven , we are declared righteous and given eternal live solely by Grace through Jesus Christ.
Gnostics believe that spirit is good contradicting what Christians teaching about Satan . Satan is fallen angels who rebelled against God and they are spirits.
Therefore they deny our Master and Lord Jesus Christ.
Acts 2:36
Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.
Romans 10:9
Because ,if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Again Jude warned us to wrong teachings that could kill our soul. He gave examples:
1. In the case of Cain and Abel. Cain kill Abel but cannot kill his soul.
2. In Case of Balaam . He cannot curse The Israelites but then He was successful to trick them with Moabites and Midianites women so they will worship foreign gods . This is abomination against God.
If they do not worship the true God then they will be perished , lost their souls, this is the most frightening.
Jude also remind the prophesy of end time vs 14,15,16. When Jesus come again the second time.
What must we do ?
VS 21,22,23.
To God be the Glory.
Questions:
1. Who is Jude?
2. How do you identify false teachers?
3. Have you ever met another Christian who has a different teaching as told in GRII?
4. What is your response?

When it was evening, after Jesus had teaching and healed so many sick people in a day, he said to his disciples…let us go across to the other side. Jesus and his disciples got into the boat and started out. Other vessels have followed but the crowds remained behind. As their sturdy boat has managed to sail over to the sea of Galilee…suddenly the weather has changed, and sudden storms caused by strong winds coming from different regions.
Some of the disciples of Jesus used to be a fisherman and they have experienced how to handle a bad weather and the boat as well but this time they feel that the storm is different with the one they used to experience, it is much bigger and the harsh whipped the waves into giant walls of water. They crashed into the boat from every side. Lightning flashed, thunder roared, the boat tossed like a helpless toy on the swirling lake.
The disciples became very scared given the situation is not become any better. Meanwhile, Jesus was in the back of the back, fall asleep on a cushion. Jesus wasn’t disturbed at all by the strong storm weather that’s probably because he was so tired teaching the whole day. Frantically, the disciples woke him up, shouting “Teacher, we are about to drown, don’t you even care?
Jesus woke up and saw how frightened the disciples were. He got up and spoke to the wind the waves. Quiet and be still! Suddenly, the wind stops blowing and the water grew still, and everything became calm. Then Jesus looked at his startled disciples and ask them why are you so afraid? He asks them, do you still have no faith? The disciples were terrified and speak to each other who is this? Even the wind and waves obey Him.

Darkness is a place where sin is hidden. We need the lights to enlighten the darkness so that we can see what sins are hidden inside our hearts. The lights are :
– God’s word
– Being honest with the Lord
– Being honest with man
All these will give light to all sins inside our heart.
Sin has its own roots and Rev Tong said it is called “motivation”
What motivate us?
God sees our heart.
We have to be truly sincere in everything before the Lord.
You may be able to lie to your mom or your dad but you can never fool the Lord.
He knows the motivation inside our heart.
When you commit sin, there will be 4 parties who knew it :
– You
– God
– Holy Spirit
– Evil
never think that no one know about your sins and your wrong doings.
Always remember, when you commit sin, even if you see there is no one around physically, God knows and sees it.
But if you repent and ask for God’s forgiveness, God promises that He is faithful and righteous and will forgive us.
Faithful = setia in bahasa indonesia = tidak berubah
Righteous = adil in bahasa indonesia = akan adili yang bersalah
Yes, God will punish the people who commit sin but since Christ died for us, then we are free, forgiven and not required to be afraid anymore. However, we have to be true in our repentance and not want to commit sin anymore. Only then will we be able to have holy and godly life. If we be honest to the Lord, it is like a patient who went to see doctor and told the doctor all his sicknesses. Please read again Luke 15 where you can see how great is the father who forgave his son who squander his money but the father with open arms, welcomes the son.
Always ask for God’s forgiveness and He will forgive you, and after that start again with God to continue to obey the Lord.
Live a holy life.
Be children of God because God is love and has died for you and also because we want to be His channel of blessings, salt and light of the Lord.
so that our life can glorify the Lord and many people will come to Him and be saved, like us.

Di sana dia pakai uangnya sesuka hatinya, he eat, drink, buy clothes, buy everything that he want. Tapi tuannya liat waktu dia mau makan. Tuannya marah “Jgn kamu makan itu. Kamu ga blh makan. Itu utk babi2 saya.” Si anak bungsu menangis… “Betapa malangnya saya, betapa menyedihkannya saya.
Kita melawan Tuhan, we have sinned against God. Sometimes we do not love our friends, we fight with our siblings, we disobey our parents, we do what we want, not what God wants. These all come from our sinful heart. We need God to forgive our sins. When we are sorry for our sins, God is ready to forgive us. God wants us to turn away from our sins and ask forgiveness. Kalau kita datang kepada Tuhan mengaku dosa kita, maka Tuhan akan mengampuni dosa kita. Tuhan akan membuat hati kita menjadi suci, putih, bersih.
Pada saat kita berdosa, kita :
1. Datang minta maaf kepada Tuhan
2. Berdoa mohon pengampunan dari Tuhan
3. Tidak lagi mengulangi dosa yang sama and bljr taat keapada Tuhan

Jesus called to men ” Follow Me”
Grace enabled Matthew to follow Jesus. Grace covered all the sins of Matthew (The Tax Collector). Jesus changed each of His Disciples. They left their sinful ways and minds, and they learned to serve the ONE they loved so dearly.
Jesus call his disciples not because of any merit within them. Foolish, weak, lowly, despised, Jesus changed them all. “Sanctification” is the work of God;s free grace, whereby we are renewed in the whole man after the image of God, enabled to die unto sin and live unto righteousness.
God is renewing us everyday, HE wants us to Follow HIM by trusting Him and serve Him.
Blessed sabbath!

In the old testament, the Israelites worship God in the tabernacle, according to the way that God has taught them. God determined some special days, and Sabbath day for the Israelites to worship God. Later on the Israelites continue to worship God in the temple that King Solomon built. Many years after worship at the temple began, God sent his Son, Jesus, to be the Savior of his people. Before Jesus died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for sin, he went from place to place teaching his disciples and those who came to listen to him. Every Sabbath, Jesus went to the synagogue, the place where Jews met to worship, study the Scriptures and pray. He went to the service, read God’s Word and then preached the good news of the gospel. By his example, Jesus did what God commanded in his Word, gathering with the people for public worship on the Sabbath. Explain that It was always God’s plan for his people to come together as a congregation. And after Jesus died on the cross, rose from the dead and returned to his Father in heaven, disciples and believers met together regularly to worship him, coming together on the first day of the week, the Lord’s Day. The tabernacle and temple were no longer needed. God’s people did not have to come to the priest with an animal for sacrifice. God’s Spirit had come to dwell in the lives of those who put their trust in the Savior’s once-for-all sacrifice for them. Now they could come to him gladly and freely, with hearts cleansed from sin.
Important points:
The church is not a building, church is a family, a big family of God. We are the body of Christ, we worship God together as a church.
God has taught us the way to worship Him through:
a. The way Israelites worship in tabernacle and temple in Jerusalem – there are: sacrifice, offerings, steps, ceremonies, holy days, special place to gather, special items and clothings. The way they worship God in the tabernacle points to the coming of Jesus.
b. The way Jesus taught and read the bible in the temple during his lifetime.
c. The way Jesus’ disciples gather and worship together after Jesus’ ascensions.
Ayat Hafalan:
Hebrews 10:24-25
…not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
